==========================================

My mare Cameo has never had shoes in the 10 years I own
here. Would love to clone her feet. We do use Easyboots
on all 4 when competing unless the ground is very soft &
wet. She'd probably do fine without them (I used to compete
barefoot and still train barefoot most of the time), but
I like not having to slow down on the nice flat gravel roads!
We only do 25s and 30s so far.

If your horse seems ouchy behind, I'd certainly boot him
no matter what your farrier says. What does it hurt?
If you decide you don't need them, you can take them off.

SARAH IN GEORGIA WROTE:
How many of you that have barefoot horses have to use
both front boots and back boots?

I asked Pete, because I thought my gelding needed hind
boots as he seemed a little tender behind on the
gravel. He told me of all the horses he has worked
with, he has only seen one horse who NEEDED rear boots
in order to be sound.

What do ya'll think on booting the hind feet?
