Horses need to be trimmed to fit their own conformation.  There is no "one" angle that fits all horses in any given sport.  Whatever angle puts the horse's P1, P2, and P3 in alignment is the "correct" angle for that horse.

Sometimes horses have high heels or low heels or growth anomalies such that they do not wear normally to what would be the "correct" angle for them--and such horses do need to have farriers change their angles to get them in alignment with themselves.  But I would run far from a farrier who thinks that your horse should change angles just to fit some mythical norm.

FWIW, I have horses that I'm currently riding that range from 48 degrees to 56 degrees (front angles).  Both of those extremes are correct for the individual.
