[RC] Shoeing, angles - hrsldylory

While we're on the subject...What are your thoughts on angles?

The horse I'm riding is very upright, he's at 53 degrees and since this is his 
first shoing ever, my farrier seems to think he should drop the angle to about 
51 or 50 eventually depending on how he rides out the next 6 weeks.

He stated that he normally sets hunter/jumpers at 53 to prevent bows and sets 
pleasure horses around 50.

Is there really a big difference?
