[RC] ponies in distance riding - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I ride a 13.2 POA mare. We did one LD so far, the Cougar Prowl and will do
another in June, the L&S ride. Our first 50 will be the Moving up Ride in Sept.

She's tough, takes fabulous care of herself (no grass is safe with her around),
drinks well on and off the trail, is smart and seems to be able to trot all day
(I on the other hand can't).

I'm only 4'9" and 103 lbs so she's a perfect fit for me. I did however make
sure when I went looking that I avoided the more recent trend in these parts of
breeding for Halter ponies. The POA people want little colored QHs. She's got
a hunter build so she's rather easy to condition and to keep cool on rides.
