Be careful about putting too much around the horse's
eyes. I was using it some years ago and it made my gelding's eye's
puffy. It was probably my fault for using too much of it,
but...

Wow, don't want to do that again. Anyway, Farnam makes a product called Roll
On, looks just like a round roll-on deodorant, and is wonderfully easy to roll
up the inside of the horses' ears. Those black midge things literally die on
contact. I roll a little on the back of the ear tips and around the eyes -
small and easy to pack anywhere.
