[RC] again re "gaited horse saddles" - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

 I remain somewhat skeptical of the concept,including that of a
different/greater shoulder motion."Gaits" are mainly TIMING phenomenon,and
unless you are dealing with (God forbid) a Big Lick show TWH,once that shoulder
moves,how much different or further can that motion of the shoulder beneath the
front of the bars really be,on any horse?So much of this stuff is virtually
unquantifiable.Field trial TWH's are almost exclusively ridden under an
American made variant of the British empire's Universal Pattern trooper
sadddle.NO consideration of gaited horses as such was involved in the original
or in the modern versions,other than a nice generous flare on the front of the
bar,which needs to be on every saddle for every horse.My horse gaits the same
under an Ortho-Flex,a Buena Vista,a Tarpin Hill trooper,or a Tucker trooper.I
settled on the Buena Vista because it is best for ME,but the durn tree broke
and I'm back on the Tarpin Hill for the time being.
