[RC] WNV question--FYI - Dot Wiggins

A follow up to this question about WNV shots.

Asked three different vets, from three states, got this response:

This horse should be fine with the one Fort Dodge shot this year.
She had two shots first year, then a booster FD, then a booster of Meriel
last year. All vets felt that the Meriel would give some immunity, and this
year's one FD should keep the immunity at a good level.
One Vet said that FD is now saying that missing a season's booster should
still leave the horse with some immunity.

These vets are some I respect highly.

Anyone have any supporting/conflicting information?

Dot, everything I have been told is that since they work differently, you
need to give two if you change from one to the other.

Subject: [RC] WNV question

Recently purchased horse had two seasons of Fort Dodge WNV and last year
was
given the Meriel WNV. Don't know if one shot, or two, with the change in
type. We much prefer the FD.
Will this horse need two shots of FD this year? Or will just one shot of
FD
work as a booster?
