[RC] LBL and Angie's book - Truman Prevatt

Well Dave Bennett mentioned to a few people that Angie was sitting back watching the weather to see if she was coming. Since Angie wasn't there to defend herself a few names were bantied about - whimp is one that comes to mind. While the forcast was not so good - it didn't all materalize. Most everyone was finished on Friday before the rain started. Kathy rode Friday and said the trails were actually pretty good on Friday. It really didn't rain hard till Friday night. The completition rate was good on Friday.

I chose to ride on Saturday and it was muddy. Jerry, however, set up a trail that would be good - rain or shine. While it was muddy in the "bottoms" on the first loop (28 miles out to an out check and back to camp) there was enough riding on old back roads (and some of the trails had good footing) so you could move out in places. All in all in was not as muddy as last year (either that or my FL sand horse has turned into a "mudder").

The rain stopped early Saturday morning - about 3 AM and no one rode in the rain on Saturday. In fact the sun came out in the afternoon. However, it was muddy enough to turn the trail into one that required smart riding, not sitting atop a runaway ;-) . You under estimate that trail and it got you - the completion rate of Saturday bore that out. Trail was doable and enjoyable if you rode with your head.

Great ride and the best ride dinner in the US and Canada.

So Angie, I hope you found a very good book - because you missed a great ride.

Truman
