Re: [RC] childrens horse books - Karen SullivanTo make this on-topic who remembers Dark Sunshine, by Dorothy Lyons about the crippled girl who trains her horse to do a 50 mile endurance ride; with her neighbor, he gets dumped and she runs for help?....this was written in 1951 I have most of the books Angie mentioned, plus a whole lot of others. I went nuts when my daughter was little and collected every horse book I could find in thriftstores and gargage sales, plus buying some out-of-print ones off the internet used book sites and ebay. I was determined to replace my childhood horse book library my mother gave to Goodwill! I got all I wanted plus copies.... Daughter read very few but I had lots of enjoyment of them....they range from hardback out of print to used paperbacks....remember the scholastic....? Well, I guess I should sell some to put toward college fund... I will come up with list in next couple of days; anyone can email me privately..... I had a friend when I was 7 years old who got me horse crazy and I traded her something for it. She knew a lot about horses for only being in 2nd grade!
