Re: [RC] White hair - girth buckle? - rides2far

Has anyone had a horse that developed white hair where the girth
buckle
sits, and if so, what was the solution?

I got in my box that my saddle came back from Ortho-Flex in. The cool
thing was that when you used to send your saddle to them for repair,
they'd pack it in scraps of wool from saddle pads and the foam material
that they cut shims from. Great stuff. I cut about a 5" x 3" rectangle
out of the shim material, then glued it to that nice heavy wool fleece
with cloth backing. I made 2 holes about an inch apart through the whole
thing and ran a shoestring through which I tie through the 2 dressage
buckles with the wool towards the horse. Looks like crap. Works great.
:-) I tried leather laces for the string first but they got stiff and
hard to remove. I like the shoe string. Very washable.
