RE: [RC] [RC] Place to stay in CA . .CHECK PONY CLUB PEOPLE - Christy Hawes

I am a former Pony Club DC and have found pony club people to be great resources! If you go on the national website www.ponyclub.org , you can look up a club by region and contact club officers. They are usually connected to LARGE WORKING BARNS that have lots of contacts and need for caretakers, etc. They are HUGE in California!

Local newspaper? My local newspapers here in colorado carry ads.

Good luck. The right situation is out there.

Is there a way for me to find a room for rent on horse property through some way other than word of mouth? I have looked at socalequine.com which is a great site but doesn't have quite what I'm looking for. I have been to barns in the past where there is a little room or trailer that someone rents, often in exchange for helping out with feeding or other chores. That sounds ideal for me, especially if I could also board my horse on that property. I am a good, hard-working, responsible and clean-cut kid but with the new job I am persuing I will be living at close to (or at!) poverty level and I've been hoping to find some low-cost rent and/or horse boarding situation in the Los Angeles or Acton area. I plan on visiting some local tack shops soon to see if they have heard of anything, but I'm pretty clueless on how to go about this. Thanks! katiebacker@xxxxxxxxxxx
