==========================================

The first thing I'd say is yes you can do it! I had not had
years and years of endurance riding under my belt when I tried
Tevis. Granted I ride everyday, train and show, but not a die
hard endurance rider. I finished last years Tevis 15 min past
that darn cut off, but in my heart we finished all of that
100 miles of Tevis. I went on to finish Virgina City 100.

Here are things I wish I knew before Tevis: I Wish
*I knew about Body Glide prior to Tevis.
*Electrolytes for us humans.. I use E-Tabs.
*You put damp washclothes in zip lock baggies, put these in you
cooler and at vet checks wipe down face, neck with them
*Horses really do infact see better with no light. You don't
need lights. A small light for emergencys and thats it
*Ride with a watch that has a light for night time.. this was a
duh moment for me!
*Changing your clothes feels oh so good and perks you up. Do
this right before you head out at night
*You horse perks up after the sun goes down.. he/she really will
*maintain a forward pace at all times!
*Watermellon handed out on Tevis tastes better then any other.

YOU CAN DO IT!
Have a fun, safe ride. Ride your own ride and don't try and
over analyze your riding strategy.
