Re: [RC] AHA Trail Ride - Chris Paus

Molllie,I'm thrilled that AHA is doing this, but I can't get past the $295 fee.lt's just way out of my price range. I'd love to go. It's hauling distance for me. It would be fun to show off my trail trained distance horses.

Reading some of the posts on this ride, I feel some of you have missed the point of this event.  Yes, there are some "goofy" guidelines or etiquette if you will but this isn't an endurance ride or a CTR ride for that matter. This is the first time that AHA has really reached out to the non show crowd and is trying to involve the 80% of Arabian owners that don't show or compete.  This is a HUGE step in AHA evolving into a club that can and hopefully will benefit all Arabian owners and just not those breeding, training,  and showing for the almighty blue ribbon and sweepstakes money in the ring.

We are doing something similar here in Ohio in June and personally I'm very excited that the Region has taken an interest and has asked to be a part of our event.

I'll spare you my "soap box" speech on the future of the Arabian breed, but at least keep an open mind about the gesture by AHA.  It wasn't that long ago that some folks on ride camp were bashing AHA and it's lack of interest in anything other than the show ring.  :-)
