Lets see - takes 5 years to do a ride, a few after that to develop maybe hitting their prime at 8. Then say 7 or 8 more years on the trail. It will take multiple generations and careful records - probably a lot more careful than are available.

I won't have to be concerned with it - it sure won't happen in my lifetime.

I think we're slowly moving towards having "endurance blood lines". It just takes a while to have the few mares & stallions who compete have a career, retire, reproduce and wait for the babies to compete. Problem is they last so long!
