Re: [RC] horse fencing help-a jumper? - Kristene Smuts

I see myself as a bit of an expert on this particular topic ;-)) Guess
how I gained THAT knowledge?

I have a 4 yo colt that would go through, over or under anything
without zap - and LOTS of it. The standard energiser does not work for
him - it does work for my breeding stallion and will keep him behind a
2ft fence with a mare just within reach! I was forced to purchase a
game strength energiser - those that will stop warthogs and antelope in
game farms, for my young man. I don't know if anybody remembers, but I
posted my little dilemma about a year ago with some very inventive
solutions from the list! ;-))

Anyway, from my experience with him, the fence has to ALWAYS be on;
ALWAYS be 7 foot or higher; ALWAYS have a hot strand about half a foot
from the ground. So, that should give you something to do over the
weekend! ;-))
