RE: [RC] Terrain chaps-new - Mike Sofen

I already bought a pair.

Construction: mesh panels stitched to leather panels, with elastic, using
the same shaped form that the regular Ariat chaps use. The mesh panels do
NOT have leather on the inside, they are just mesh (a very sturdy mesh).

Impression: they will be cooler than other chaps due to the large mesh
panels. Downside - those panels are on the outside of the leg, and in
blackberry country, unlike suede or leather chaps, the thorns will (and
have) snagged the mesh material, although they have not yet frayed or torn.
They fit well, but come in fewer sizes than their regular chaps. And they
are still priced Ariat style, at about $70. Now that the weather is
improving, I'll be riding in them again and will see how feel after a longer
ride.

Mike
