[RC] Egg bar shoes & Trail/Endurance - Stacy Sadar

Does anyone use egg bar shoes on their horses and ride trail or endurance? If so, are you concerned about them getting caught on tree roots, etc.? Also, does anyone use pads with the egg bar shoe to prevent a stick or something getting caught? Just wondering.
