[RC] moving to CA from NY - Jonni

(quote) >>>>You forgot deer ticks and lime disease. My sister-in-law
contracted the disease from a tick (don't know whether horses are
susceptible) and
it is really no joke. She nearly died. She's finally recovering after
three years of feeling really miserable. During the hot months, make it a
ritual to check yourself and your kids and pets for ticks. Learn what a
deer tick looks like (we've got other kinds too.) <<<

I visited New Jersey back around 1998 or so, and remember billboards along
the highways telling folks about Lyme disease. I think the NE has suffered
with Lyme disease much longer than the west coast has. But then, they have
more deer in semi-populated areas too. I'd think anyone moving from NY would
know all about it.(but maybe not) A nasty disease indeed. If I remember,
Dr. Kerry Ridgeway contracted it many, many years ago, long before they knew
much about it. And yes, I was told horses can get it.
