Re: [RC] battery operated fence chargers - Ericka Nelson

I purchased the OK Corral from Valley VEt Supply.  I did have a problem with the charger, but the makers of the OK sent me a new charger, and that was after it sat in the barn for two years.  It has a good charge and Artie is respectful of it.  I still tie him up at night, tho.  Maybe I'll stop doing that this year, but really I do sleep better knowing he's tied.

Subject: [RC] battery operated fence chargers

At 22 years old, my gelding has finally shown me he'll stay in an
electric fence when camping, even when his buddy is leaving.  So while
I'll probably still tie him during ride starts if he's not going at that
particular moment, I plan to get him a corral, as it will make his life
easier and mine too.  I'm looking for advice on chargers.  My cousin has
generously offered to just let me tie into hers, or put the 2 horses
together, which I apprecaite greatly.  But I may be having people travel
with me part of the time, and do some pleasure camping as well, so would
prefer to have my own too.
What brands have people had good luck with?  I know the Yellow Jacket
chargers are very popular, but they're about $75 now so if there's a
less expensive alternative I wouldn't mind finding it.  Thanks in advance.
