[RC] starting mustangs under saddle - Ed Kilpatrick

some have already said it, but it isnt much different than starting other horses under saddle.  no need to rush it.  i am itching to get captain jack under saddle, but he is just two now.  he is a big boy, between 15.1 and 15.2, but i dont have a problem waiting until he is nearly three.  i am a little guy, well, an average size guy, 5' 9", 160 lbs., so i can do a bit of saddle work with him then.

the other thing about waiting a while, is that it gives you the opportunity to get lots and lots of important ground work done, so that when it comes time to ride, all you basically have to do is, well, get on and ride.  i have only started four mustangs under saddle, and as yet, none of them have bucked or done anything silly.   cowboy ed
