Re: [RC] Rider Weight - rides2far

I've spent the
afternoon, after reading the posts, feeling bad about myself

When I go walking down my road I pass by a barn lot that has a Quarter
Horse and a Belgian mare. They're not far apart in height but of course
have extreme difference in shape and weight. The man who owns them gives
the QH a bit of grain, but the Belgian is an "air fern" and only gets to
nibble on the round bale to keep her weight up. I look at that 16 hand
Belgian and think how a stupid height & weight chart would name one
"ideal weight" for her and a 16 hand TB, QH, or Arab. Fit is fit but the
"ideal weight" for different body styles varies greatly. That Belgian is
actually a fit looking Belgian. Too bad we don't have "breeds" we fall
into that explain our different body styles. Can't you just imagine a
Belgian having to listen to a skinny nervous TB lecture her about "just
control your appetite"?
