Re: [RC] Rider Weight - Tom Sites

Why is it impolite to call some one fat and not when someone is called skinny?

This is a problem I no longer have :-)
However, several years ago I went through a very rough time
and lost quite a bit of weight...much more than was healthy
or even attractive (you know your too skinny when other girls
think your skinny)...

It actually went on long enough so that it started to bother me
when people (strangers too) would comment on my weight. I was
sick and was not in a position yet to gain back the weight I had
lost (i've since made up for it :-)

People were rude about it...not many people would walk up and
tell someone to their face that they are too fat. But it happens
quite frequently with people who are thin.

I got to where I would wear baggy clothes to cover up the weight
loss.

So to answer the question it's just impolite to comment to
someone who is thin as it is to comment on someone who is...

um....not thin...
