Re: [RC] BIO DIESEL - Karen Sullivan

I looked into biodiesel about a year ago. At that time, it was about $2.65
a gal, which is
getting pretty darn competitive as diesel here in Calif is now over $2.50 a
gal....

I for one, would not mind paying a bit more for biodiesel since it burns
cleaner (my contribution to
environment and less guilt to using my truck, however would have to
currently drive to next county
to buy it...

However, I am wondering how much cheaper veggie oil is....what size
containers are you
buying it in and how does it break down cost per gal? Even 5 gal containers
of veggie oil
I see break down to about $5 per gal....

We haven't done a ton of research about bio diesel but from what I
understand, it has potential BUT I have heard that most of it is still
more
expensive than diesel. As much as I want to be environmentally friendly,
my pocketbook comes first. Sooo, we're going used veggie oil first. I
understand there are various bios diesels that range from 10-100% veggie
oil. The more veggie oil, the thicker it is so with a larger percentage,
either it has to be heated (which is what our tank is going to do) or it
has to have additives that thin it out.

For the gentleman wanting to know more, a couple of months ago there were
several e-mails on this thread. You might search the archives. We
purchased our from Greasel and they have a website www.greasel.com. Adam
will finish installing ours tomorrow and we're very excited about it's
potential.

THIS WILL WORK LOWER PRICES and cleaner burning too. Bean fuel SOY

Search the internet for details biodeisel.org.??? There's a station in
Sparks, Nevada I wanted to go to while I was at the convention but no time
to check it out.

They say if the truckers use this it will change all fuel pricing and
mineral drilling would pretty much change the world.
