[RC] rider too big ? - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

Talking about horses being too small and the rider too big, I don't necessarily
agree with the 20% of the weight stuff. EVERY horse is different. Some
smaller horses might not be able to take the weight, but others can. It
depends on the horse! Now, think of this example: John Parke riding
Remington!!! I don't know what the weight difference is there but, it seems
like it would be a big difference. I think Remington(in my opinion) is one of
the best horses out there. He may not place high int he ranking, but heck, he
seems like he enver stops! I have seen him at rides, and him coming in the
finish at dark...(and getting pulled farely seldom for the amount of rides he
does)...I am in "awe" at what that little horse can do!!! With over 8,500
miles and doin over 35+ rides last year?!?! So sometimes that whole "im too big
for my horse" isn't true at all. It all depends on the horse, and if you have
a horse than can take you without being sore, then you have a good one!
But if your horse can't handle the weight, don't push it, just look for one
that can :)
