A horse without a rider who is capable of scoring well in 
horsemanship is unlikely to get to the highest horse award -- the 
horsemanship judging is based on riding so that your horse can do 
well.  But that aside, there *are* national awards that reward 
horsemanship directly -- the Polly Bridges Memorial is for high 
average horsemanship score in the Open Division; the Jim Menefee 
Memorial is for high point combined Horse and Horsemanship points in 
Open Division;  Junior High Average Horsemanship for a junior riding 
in Open Division; and there is High Average Competitive Pleasure 
Horsemanship.
