I love the Zilco no-slip reins. Unfortunately, I haven't found that they hold up very well. I'm on my second set, and I only got a year's use out of each set. The rubberized grip area become tacky and gooey after about 4 months of use. I'm not sure just what is causing it.

Hi Liz!
Thanks for your email, and the warning about the sticky Zilco reins. What a bummer! Well, I've been also looking at their add-on endurance headstall called the MS. The thing is, it looks as though the two straps on cheek aren't parallel, and so do you (or anyone) know if it would cause rubbing on the part where the two straps cross? That would be horrible. If that does happen, I'd like to instead go with the Hought's add-on headstall which can be found at: http://www.hought.com/add.on.hs-std.html . If you go to that link, you can see that the cheek straps are parallel.
I just wanted a Zilco bridle to match my Zilco breast collar! <g> (and also because I was impressed with the quality of the breast collar).
I have a set of beta reins and really like them, perhaps I'll just get another pair of those! Thanks again,
Katie Azevedo
