My husband and I have a house in Shepherdstown WV which is a straight shot on rte 9 to Round Hill, but it takes just shy of an hour (according to map quest). The house has a furnished studio apartment over the garage. Shepherdstown is the oldest town in W.V. and is absolutley charming. The house is in the historic district, walking distance to everything. And if you are a history buff, Antietam Battlefield park is right across the river.
