[RC] re: blevins buckles - Teresa Van Hove

If you do not need to maintain the full western look, you could just substitute english leathers for the fenders or the 2" leathers they sell for some of the endurance saddles --those would work better with western stirrups than the 1" english leathers. I've put english leathers on a western saddle to allow really short stirrups for kids, and to accomadate english riders who dis-liked the stiffness of the western fenders; they worked just fine.

Cheers,
Teresa

Does anyone know of something to substitute for the metal sliding blevins
buckles that will still make it relatively easy to adjust stirrups??? I know
that the older western saddles were laced together semi-permenantly with
rawhide but sometimes other people ride in my saddle.
I'd really appreciate any advise.
