Okay, I'm sipping my first cuppa coffee, read your post, and the first thing that came to mind was this,
If it's a filly, name it Betty Zane... she was Zane Grey's mother,( I think... hey, it's early) and one of his early books was titled "Betty Zane"( 1903)
