A name may come to you in a moment.  We bred a filly whom we could not name
for several months.  Then one day, as I was riding on a multi-day ride,
across the high desert, a jackrabbit went streaking across the road and into
the sagebrush. My thought processes went in this order......speed, bird,
hawk......Ladyhawke (one of my favorite movies).  This chain of thought came
in mili-seconds.  It certainly served the purpose.  Another filly born of
the same mare, I named Vixen, because when I went out to see the mare and
discovered she had just foaled, the first thing I saw was a bushy red tail
on the baby.  I thought.....fox, female fox, vixen.  Maybe you will come up
with something in a similar manner.

I'm (actually my mare is) expecting her first foal at the end of April.
She's a beautiful, wonderful, talented, athletic, sensible and perfect (in
my eyes) mare and is bred to Zane Gray.  I am very excited about this baby
and its potential.  The only thing is that I am absolutely stumpped about

name.  My mare's name is Paanache.  I welcome any and all ideas.  Wish us
luck as we anxiously await our first baby!
