RE: [RC] [RC] [RC] Michel Bloch & Death Valley Encounter - terry banister

Falling off the horse is not the only reason for needing a helmet. I would probably be a goner right now if it weren't for the helmet saving me from an OVERHANGING TREE LIMB with an 10'" diameter. At a fast trot, I ducked for oncoming branches and, since my head and eyes were down, did not see that there was a second, huge, tree limb, and I came up right in front of it. Now I know the meaning of the term "seeing stars!" Destroyed the helmet and nearly knocked me backward off the horse.

If you are riding unfamiliar trail, and it iis springtime, and the trails are all overgrown, you may not know when the big ones are coming.

My heart goes out to Michel. Thank God he understood the importance of wearing a helmet.

I learned the hard way. I was bucked off onto my head 7 years ago and was NOT wearing a helmet. I also was knocked unconscious and was air lifted to the hospital, where I spent 3 days. I still have no memory of the accident or the month following. I am alive today only by the grace of God. My life has been forever altered by this accident. Now my helmet goes on EVERYTIME I mount my horse.

Thank you for posting this testimonial to the importance of wearing a helmet. I pray that Michel heals both physically and mentally and is back on his horse soon.
