[RC] Re- Daily Wormer - Roger Rittenhouse

NO shame here - actually I have 7 rats on this stuff.. actually I had
8 at one time with 4 doing rides -- so I guess I never found that ONE
--that had problems..
I also had 'only ONE' horse with a major reaction to QUEST - and to
prove it out - I used it TWO TIMES.. now THAT was really DUMB.. The
vet at the FDA Equine Div said NEVER use it again on him.

Very few if riders ever really try to find out IF the daily wormer
really caused the alleged problem.. you noted ONE -- According to
the FDA the same vet I spoke with about the QUEST problem - as well as
UT - it is the safest wormer out there.
MOST of the others are systematic, they get absorbed in the blood steam
and the drug kills the worms while it feeds. Stongid-Daily kills on
contact and it is not absorbed in the blood.. at least I have yet to
see any reports that support that position. All the studies I read prove
it is NOT absorbed in the blood.

MY one rat study was to prove to me and those who were SURE it was the
wormer that caused his colic, it did not nor did he have ulcers.
Anyone else who suspects they have a problem - should get the horse
scoped instead of guessing.

I think we see today more ULCERS due to feeding travel and ride stress
- then the alleged anterior enteritis. (spelling - inflammation.)
from daily wormer...

So again no shame here...

Shame on you Roger...you do your "one rat studies" all the time. I know one
horse that absolutely did have MAJOR problems on the daily wormer. The
company worked with the owner for many months trying to figure out why...no
luck.
Just like every thing else, daily wormer is not for every horse...
