Hello! I remember watching the pan am in Trout Lake this year (my first endurance race experience) and seeing many riders moving out with their arms raised and several feet apart. We all discussed this technique with curiousity and no real answers. Were they riding in sidepulls or bitless? Is this style to allow the horse to chose his own balance? It's a mystery to me.
