I feel strongly
that mares are (IMO) the most overlooked endurance resource out there, but
as a breeder, I also feel that the ones that DO possess the traits to be
really good at it are also the ones I need to breed to have a good
breeding program. <sigh>

Heidi

Right.....and how do you know that unless they are ridden and competed?
Personally, and I bet
you agree with me; I am sick and tired of all the mares that get bred as 3-4
year olds, that not only
have not DONE anything athletic, but have been pasture potatoes and have no
muscle tone.....
so how does anyone know if they are surefooted, smooth gaited or strong
metabolicaly?

Karen
