[RC] New Import requirement in Illinois - David Bagot

A new requirement for those of you wanting to come into Illinois with your horses.  As of Feb. 1, 2004, all horses entering Illinois will be required to obtain an entrance permit from the IL dept. of Agriculture.  The permit will be obtained by your veteranian at the time that the health certificate is issued.  A health certificate or permit is NOT required for Illinois animals moving within the state.  Also, IL horses re-entering the state will not be required to obtain a permit, as long as they are moving on a current IL health certificate.
