Re: [RC] Scratches - patty bass

no matter where i am and which horse i am on i always know when i  make a  turn toward home or camp.  just go out at a competition where the trail crosses the way back to camp and you have to go the  other direction.  yes, they know the  way. now it may take you thru some  territory you would rather not ride thru such as briars and dense trees  but they will go home. now  that is with a rider on, not sure when frightened and by themselves .

Yes, I was just wondering (and maybe I'll post this to ridecamp, because I know the group will know), when we are in the middle of our lovely trail wandering, how good is my horse's sense of direction? If I ride her in a loop over the hills, will she still realize we're heading home if we come down the other side of the ridge? I bet she does! Need to check it out. Other observations on horses' sense of direction?
