[RC] My thoughts for 2005 - Jody Rogers-Buttram

Hello everyone on Ridecamp!!!

Happy New Year and here is a list of what I will be working on starting tomorrow:
  • Loose that 20 lbs. that my horse (Rose) keeps telling me needs to go or she will.  I think she packed her bags after the Talladega 3-day this fall.
  • Work out and get more fit so that I can run up those hills she has been carrying my fat butt up.  :)  Karen Isaacs, I think you must be wonder woman.
  • Try to be more organized, in that meaning, write things down since I have hit the age that all memory cells are dead and gone.  Joni (my 10 yr. old daughter) has to tell me that I already fed the dogs today, but not her.  What would I do without her "youthful" brain.  And to think, I was going to get her to move out when she turned 18....better re-think that one.
  • Try to find a new job.  One that meets all the criteria.  That is, it must NOT interfere with the horse hobby, pay very well to provide for the horse hobby, require no traveling, have timeoff from the starting date so I don't "miss" any up coming rides. Oh, the list could go on, but I think I will stop here.
  • Try to keep 5 horses fit and sound for the season.  This seems pretty easy so far....of course, we haven't gone to any rides in 2005 yet either.
  • Finish 3 100 milers this year with Rose and Joni.  I must say, this is a goal of Joni's as well as mine.  I did strike a deal with Rose, that is, she and I think that the 100 milers are easier than the multidays.  She agreed to that. Just no one tell her about the 3 pioneer rides I have written down on the calendar.  She is hard enough to catch now.  Am I the only one that has to leave a trail of grain in the back of the barn and to the stall????
  • And maybe the toughest one on the list....try to treat my pit crew/hubby better.  I have the world's greatest pit crew  (mainly because "I" trained him) and anybody out there would probably agree that my poor crew has it rough.  So, in order to keep that crew going and working, I need to be nicer.  Oh, that is going to be tough!!!   Can I just loose 30 lbs. instead?????

So, there it is.  I hope that I can at least complete some of these, if not all.  And I am sure that if someone sees me being "mean" to Joel, I will be called down on it.  :))  That's ok.

Happy New Year from

Joel, Jody, Joni and all the girls: Rose, Love, Aries, Gypsy, and this year, Storme.
