Re: [RC] Camping in the rain - Mary Ann Spencer

It is MISERABLE for the horses to be tired to horse trailer in the rain.  When out on good pasture, the hroses will get into a place with less rain and/or wind.  Being tied doesn't allow them to do that.  I just don't camp in the rain.  But when caught in cold rain, put the horse in the trailer.  Most will be appreciative.  AND, always feed free choice good quality hay.  mas

Looks like my second LD ride will be one in the rain. I've ridden in the rain before but have not camped in it before.
Question: Is it just miserable for the horses to stand tied to
the trailer overnight in the rain? I have a heavy blanket but it
is not rain proof as she normally is in the barn. Should I go
and buy a rain sheet or just keep in her the trailer?
