While I control their desire to rub on me, I remove the bridle as soon as possible and let them rub on the hitching post. Some of our horses are "itchy-er" than others. In the Springtime, my mare sometimes goes crazy (crowhopping, jiggy, etc.) toward the end of those first sweaty rides, and I had wondered if she was super itchy under the saddle and really ticked off about it. Good to know it's not *necessarily* the crazy mare gene (though it can't be excluded ;-)).
