[RC] LD/endurance still/yet again - Dot Wiggins

I would object bitterly to having my mileage in Endurance (around 8000) and
Limited Distance (Just made the 750 mile patch) combined.
They are different games in many ways, ridden for different reasons.
I don't feel one is better than the other, just different. Some horses and
riders can do one, some can do it all.
The LD program has done some good things for AERC. There are so many
riders today without the background to jump into the longer distances.
There are a lot of horses not raised under conditions that make them fit the
"any horse can do 25 miles" scenario.
There must be a starting point. Even the shorter "trail rides" are
daunting for some.
And then there is the other end, those folks that used to do 50s and 100s,
but don't want to or can no longer. We like to be a part of the rides too.

I know folks who wouldn't join till the "day membership" rule came in.
I approve of the separate regional awards for mileage and BC for LD.

If a name change would make some folks happier, go for it. Don't change
the overall program.

them)
