Re: [RC] re: Andrea's comments on angry in Idaho - Susan Young

Furthermore, what's going to stop them from shooting her in the back as she ignores them and trots on?

I'm being stubbern, I know.  If I wanted to ride someplace, I would!  Now, if I truely felt in danger of my life, I'd take appropriate action.  I'd start with getting that restraining order.  They HAVE threatened; one was directly to the horse and the other was implied to Mary.  Like Ed said, once that restraining order is in place, you have evidence that you fear for your safety.

Now, would a judge ask WHY you continued to ride down that road?  Probably.  My answer would be because it's public access or I had permission and I've got to condition my horse and no other area is easily accessable.  WHY should *I* have to give up a freedom because the law protects these people?

No easy answers...I see both sides.  But I WOULD carry a gun and not touch it unless I had to.

So, Andrea, if these lunatics start shooting at her or her horse, would
you like her to shake her finger and say, " That's not nice of y'all, I
don't believe in defending myself?" If some one is not able to defend
themselves, whether due to personal convictions or stupidly thinking they
can rely upon the goodness of humanity, then my suggestion is to ride
somewhere else. If these people are truly mentally unstable, you are not
going to reason with them and legal options do not mean much to geniuine
psychopaths. Cindy
