[RC] Mounting Blocks - Ed

Watching the History Channel last night about Genghis Khan and then a fellow
after him(Timor?) was interesting. Much about their nomadic horse cultures
with many dramatizations with great horsemanship. Discussion about shooting
bow and arrows from horseback. The development of the reflex bow which
required less pulling back to shoot the arrow thus a significant benefit to
the archer on a horse, etc. Now, on the subject of mounting blocks...one
scene of one of the leaders (may have been of the Ottoman's) walking up to
mount and one of his men runs up, down onto hands and knees and the boss
just steps on his back and onto the horse! I turned to my wife and asked her
"I wonder who can I get to do that for me?" The answer certainly isn't her
:)!
