[RC] kicking, leaping, etc - Alice Yovich

I had a little mare that was half spotted saddle horse and half paint. She was "kid broke" which of course meant she knew nothing. The first few rides out, she was great, then one time she just blew. I never did know what it was that actually set her off, but a few changes of bits later she wasn't any better. I sent her to the trainer and ended up riding her in a bitless bridle. She became a complete lamb. sometimes less is more.

(this is not necessarily an endorsement for the bitless bridle. It didn't do a thing for my current horse, but was great on the one I'm talking about above.)
