Re: [RC] how hard do you hit the ground - Suzi Maiorisi

Boy isn't that the truth!!  I remember coming off my sisters horse years ago (35+ years ago!) and getting flung into a nearby pine tree head first...got up, shook off the pine needles, untangled the horse from where he was hung in the fence that he didn't clear, got back on (my horse!) and rode some more.  Now it takes 20 minutes to shake the fog from the head (and unrattle the nerves) even when you didn't hit it, much less the new found aches and pains that come the next day.

Second that.  I had falls as a teenager that if I had them now, paramedics would not be able to find enough pieces to put Grandma Humpty back together again.

OK, so now I understand how hard it is when my horse does that spin and bolt and I hit the ground, but now I want to know WHY IS IT *HARDER* THAN WHEN I WAS 20???
