[RC] Quivering during shoeing. - Laurie Durgin

The other question was-- Our 20 yr old tb returned with the synovial knee injury and has some arthritis on it. First reshoeing in front since he has been back.
Now he has never like to keep weight on the farrier stand- on his front legs during the nail nipping process and rasping. he'll just slide them off sometimes. (which may farrier fusses about). But this time his opposite shoulder was quivering when the farrier put his bad leg up on the stand (he has lost some rotation of that joint the vet said last year.He quivered the whole time on the opposite shoulder. Then he had some quivering in his opposite butt while in the back, when his oppostie rear leg was being trimmed. It was a mild day, not cold. Is this'too much strain" or something? or maybe a fear thing? Or some physical cause. He isn't doing anything but hangind out .My farrier wasn't being rough or anything. He does tend to lean some times.... Is it just what older horses do?--he has been gone a year, but never did this before....
