is adapting fairly well to using easyboots, so I may continue
that route as well as I think that ultimately the best protection
for my horses is to have foamed on easyboots over metal shoes.

Karen,

What about foaming on easyboots without the metal shoes?

My stallion (age 15, I just got him this year) has been barefoot
(and doing nothing) his whole life. Now that he's under saddle
and going out on the trails he's showing no signs of needing
shoes. So, while I love the GCs and use them on one of my mares,
I'm really leaning towards just foaming on easyboots for endurance
for the stallion, and otherwise leaving him barefoot and just
putting on easyboots for tough conditioning rides.

So, I guess my question was if you're using the easyboots, why
use the metal shoes, too?
