[RC] Navicular - Peter Harper

Hi All,

We have a 19+ year old Grade/QH gelding that has mild
navicular disease. He's been semi-retired for the
past couple years but my 11 yr old daughter has taken
an interest in riding. He's a great ole boy with a
gentle bin there done that attitude. I totally trust
her riding him and he seems to enjoy getting out on
the trails with his stable mates. He does well with a
light rider and we don't trot too much.

We have him shod in corrective shoes which helps him a
lot. I was wondering if there was anything else we
could do to make him more comforatble. The vet
suggested giving him bute or asprin before we ride.
I've tried asprin which seems to help.

Anyone have any suggestions.

Best Regards, Pete in TX
