Maybe they were just having an off day. Maybe they had just had a conversation about the fact that they had just spent the entire day getting to where they were. The point being...just like on email, we usually can't see the other persons expression, or know the factors behind a remark...try not to have a thin skin; use one of Charle's humorous rejoinders, and let it go!! All I was trying to say was that the person wanting to pass shouldn't assume that it's their 'right' to get to pass; if there was a reply they considered rude, maybe there was a reason (in the mind of the people being passed) for it. In your case, everyone was mutually acceptable to passing/being passed. It is too bad it isn't always that way....
