Re: [RC] How much land per horse in Michigan? - DaNel Resha

When I was in school for Horse Science.  We were taught that for pasture you need 2.5 acres per horse.  If you plan on having a barn, keeping them up part time and feeding hay, you can get by with much less land per horse.

I am relocating to Michigan in the next year and would like to bring 2 of my
horses. Does anybody know how much land per horse I will need to be able to
keep them at my house. I am looking in the Kalamazoo and surrounding areas.
Thanks.
