And Truman, Jesse Owens was one of many who went before Rosa Parks who led
up to making it possible for her action to be a turning point.  Nothing
exists in a vacuum.

PS:  Nowhere have I tried to suggest that Jesse Owens "prevented" the
slaughter by Hitler's Nazis--it certainly didn't.  But EVERY action such
as his adds up over time.  His Olympic performance was just one small part
of the overall protest against what Hitler did.
